Institute of Meat and WCB Annual Prize-giving 2019

A right Royal CelebrationThe achievements of butchery apprentices, their training providers and employers were celebrated at the IoM annual prize-giving on 21st February, at The Painters Hall, London. 

HRH The Princess Royal presented the awards, in conjunction with IoM Chief Executive, Keith Fisher (MB.Inst.M).

The event was attended by over a hundred guests and is a tradition dating back over a quarter of a century. The overall winner, who won the Champion Meat Apprentice of the Year Award was Jack White from Cranswick Country Foods. Jack took home prize money of £750, the winners trophy and certificate, plus a years membership of the Institute of Meat.

Jonathan Seville from J W Mettrick`s who has been completing his training with Crosby Training achieved the title of Best Abattoir Worker/Apprentice and received his certificate from HRH The Princess Royal.

Best Poultry Apprentice- Eva Szabo - Poultec - Avara Foods
Best Meat Apprentice - Showing Real Management Potential - Joseph O’Sullivan - Crosby Butchery Training - Booker Group
Lord Graham Endeavour Award - Samuel Newey- ABP - ABP UK Talent Academy
Best Company Training Scheme - ABP UK Talent Academy
Best Meat Training Provider of the Year - MEAT Ipswich Ltd
