Cranstons Q Guild Orton Grange Business Gains Elite Status

Orton Grange Food Hall is the sixth Cranstons outlet to join the Q Guild. It was opened in November, 2013, complimenting an existing gift shop and cafe at Orton Grange Farm, four miles west of Carlisle. The outlet has already won sparkling recognition, being chosen as best national Food Hall in the 2016 Butchers Shop of the Year Awards, run by the Meat Trades Journal.

Multi award-winning Cranstons, which has its headquarters in Penrith, is one of Cumbria`s best-known food groups, operating a six-strong network of outlets across the county, comprising four local produce food halls - the others are in Penrith, Carlisle and Brampton - and two traditional high street butchers shops in Penrith and Hexham. All are Q Guild members.

Q Guild manager Gordon Newlands said: ` Not only is Cranstons a well known business in Cumbria it is a well known business in the UK and we are thrilled that Philip Cranston and his team have worked to gain this status. Cranstons employ local people and supply local produce and serve local consumers. Its ethos is about Local quality food served in a hygienic environment.  This sits nicely with the Q Guild and we warmly welcome the team at Orton Grange to the Guild membership.
