Higginsons to raffle meat hamper for charity during National Butchers Week

To celebrate National Butchers Week, Higginsons are holding a prize raffle in their Grange-over-Sands shop, with all the proceeds being donated to charity.

The raffle prize, a spectacular Cumbrian Meat Hamper, is certainly worthy of the £1 cost of naming a square on the number board which can be found in their shop from 11th to 17th March, as it features a mouth-watering selection of the favourite products of each of Higginsons butchers.

Now in its 11th year, National Butchers Week highlights the skill and innovation which takes place within butcher’s shops across the land. Higginsons fundraising raffle not only showcases the talent found within their team of butchers but also directly benefits a charity close to the hearts of the Higginsons family, Cumbria Cerebral Palsy.

Seven of Higginsons butchers were asked to nominate a different product to go into the hamper, with the final selection including a mixture of Higginsons long-standing signature products such as their Cumberland Sausage, regional specialities such as Herdwick Lamb and newer creations including their popular Weekday Beef Wellingtons. Each butcher will be announcing their chosen product on Higginsons social media platforms during the week. The winner of the Meat Hamper will be announced the week after National Butchers Week.
Managing Director of Higginsons, Stuart Higginson said “We have always supported Cumbria Cerebral Palsy as it meant a great deal to my late mother who was very involved with the charity for many years. We felt that National Butchers Week would provide a good opportunity to do our bit for charity at the same time as raising awareness of our skills and innovations as a business.â€

“The Higginsons Meat Hamper makes a fantastic raffle prize as it’s been put together with input from our team of Butchers, who each have their favourite products. The products in the hamper definitely demonstrate the diversity of the fresh meat range and added value products that we sellâ€.
